The Issues
Protecting Casselberry’s Natural Resources
Growing Our City In A Good Way.
Casselberry’s lakes, parks, conservation areas, and green spaces are an important part of what makes our community special. We have a responsibility to protect these natural resources and keep them clean, healthy, and accessible for residents to enjoy.
I support responsible environmental stewardship, effective stormwater management, and regular maintenance of our lakes and waterways. We should also address invasive species safely and responsibly to protect the health of our natural areas.
Our parks and recreation spaces should be well maintained and provide opportunities for residents of all ages to enjoy the outdoors.
Protecting our natural resources means caring for the lakes, parks, and green spaces that make Casselberry a great place to live.
Safe E-Bike Regulations
E-bikes have become an increasingly common way for people to get around Casselberry, but safety must remain a priority. We have seen too many reports of children and adults being seriously injured or killed in e-bike related crashes.
I support clear, reasonable e-bike regulations that focus on safety without unnecessarily limiting access to this convenient form of transportation. Rules should help protect pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and especially children, while encouraging responsible riding throughout our community.
Casselberry should focus on education, safe riding practices, appropriate speed, and responsible use of sidewalks, roads, and shared pathways. We should also work with residents, schools, law enforcement, and transportation officials to identify areas where additional safety measures may be needed.
We can support accessible transportation while taking reasonable steps to make our roads, sidewalks, and pathways safer for everyone.
Protecting Taxpayer Dollars
Casselberry residents deserve a city government that treats every taxpayer dollar with care. I will prioritize essential services, infrastructure, and public safety while looking for ways to improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs, and make responsible financial decisions.
Maintaining the infrastructure we already rely on should be a priority. That means investing in roads, stormwater systems, public facilities, parks, and other essential services before small problems become larger and more expensive ones.
I also believe the city should actively pursue responsible revenue sources, grants, partnerships, and other funding opportunities to help meet community needs without placing the entire burden on local taxpayers.
Before asking residents to pay more, we should make sure we are using existing resources wisely, identifying efficiencies, and exploring every reasonable option to fund our priorities.
Protecting taxpayer dollars means planning ahead, investing wisely, and being accountable for every dollar we spend.
Public Safety
Public safety should never depend on which neighborhood you live in. Every Casselberry neighborhood deserves the same commitment to safety, responsive city services, and well-maintained public infrastructure.
I will support maintaining safe, well-kept roads and sidewalks, while improving ADA accessibility so residents of all ages and abilities can safely move throughout our community. Safe sidewalks, accessible crossings, proper lighting, and well-maintained streets are essential parts of a safe and connected Casselberry.
I also support neighborhood policing and a continued partnership between our community and law enforcement. We should listen to residents, identify areas of concern, and work collaboratively to address problems before they become larger public safety issues.
Our first responders deserve our support and the resources they need to protect and serve our community. By investing in public safety, maintaining our infrastructure, improving accessibility, and staying responsive to neighborhood concerns, we can help make Casselberry a safer community for everyone.
Public safety means being proactive, accessible, and responsive in every neighborhood.
Reforming Code Enforcement
Casselberry’s codes should reflect the community we live in today. I support clear, fair, and reasonable standards that protect our neighborhoods and quality of life.
Code enforcement should be consistent and focused on solving problems, not simply issuing citations. Residents and businesses should understand the rules and have a fair opportunity to address concerns.
We can maintain community standards while making sure our codes are practical, fair, and up to date.
Managing Re-Development
Re-Development decisions affect the things that touch our everyday lives: our homes, our health, the schools our children attend, the taxes we pay, our daily commute, our natural environment, and economic growth in our community. We must devise approaches to re-development that encourage a mix of building types and uses, diverse housing and transportation options, re-development within existing neighborhoods, and community engagement.
